Charles Cnudde |
Biographical Note Dr. Charles Cnudde is Professor of Political Science. Professor Cnudde teaches, conducts research, and performs public service in the areas of political science and social science concerned with public policy, American and foreign government, research methods, and international affairs. He has taught at many universities in the U.S. and abroad: The University of California, Irvine; the University of Wisconsin, Madison; the University of Texas, Austin; the University of Arizona, Tucson; Michigan State, and Forida State Universities; and the University of Essex in England; and he is an honorary faculty member of St. Clements University in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. His publications include numerous books and articles, including articles in the leading political science journals, such as the American Political Science Review and the American Journal of Political Science. His most recent article is in Security and Cooperation in Southeastern Europe, a publication of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia. Dr. Cnudde's public service activities include service on the Academic Committee of Abu Dhabi University, a new institution in the United Arab Emirates; on the Massachusetts Board of Directors of KidsVoting, a national, non-profit organization that works with the public schools to encourage civic awareness among children; on the UMassBoston College of Liberal Arts personnel committee; as a lecturer with the UMassBoston Gerontology Institute's LETS program; and as chair of the political-science department's personnel committee. He has traveled professionally in China, Japan, Mexico, the Middle East, North Africa, the Caribbean, and Western and Eastern Europe. Until 2001 he served as Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs of UMassBoston. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Michigan and his Ph.D. is from the University of North Carolina. Recent Courses Taught by Dr. Cnudde Recent courses are Public Administration, Program Evaluation, American Public Policy, the Legislative Process, American Government, International Affairs Research Methods, and Political Science Field Work.
